Who would’ve thought that in Oscoda County, Michigan there would be people experiencing homelessness? One would think that homelessness is far removed from the rural area in Northern Michigan. Unfortunately homelessness is becoming more and more of a problem in rural areas around the country. This community has countless people who have found themselves in situations where they have no place to go, no food to eat, and do not know what tomorrow will bring. Through the compassion of caring people in our community who have opened up their own homes to those in need, the vision of Lydia’s Gate was born.
